Principal Players

In brass bands, and most orchestral groups, you will often come across the concept of principal players.

Each part of the band is referred to as a "Section" and at the head of each section you will find the principal. These are usually the ones in the section who will peform Solos and prominent parts and they also have the job of keeping each of their respective sections in line and performing to their best (though I think most will agree we run a very democratic team at Drighlington).

When you attend one of Drighlington Bands concerts you can expect to enjoy solo/duet or even trio/quartet performances from at least one, if not all, of the following players.
